Oya
Idie Okonkwo
A Nigerian mutant with the ability to manipulate temperature, generating both extreme heat and cold. Rescued during the Hope Summers era, Idie struggled deeply with viewing her powers as sinful, making her one of the most morally complex young X-Men. She became a key student at the Jean Grey School and later served with the X-Men during the Krakoan era.

November 2010
Oya is widely regarded as one of the most compelling teen X-Men introduced in the 2010s, with her debut during the "Schism" event (where she was forced to kill as a child) standing as a defining and frequently referenced moment. Her character arc in Wolverine and the X-Men and her role in the All-New X-Men lineup earned her a dedicated following, though fans consistently express frustration that she remains underutilized in recent years despite her potential. She's often cited alongside characters like Armor and Surge when readers discuss talented young mutants who deserve more prominent roles in current X-Men stories.
