Schism
2011The X-Men fracture. When the new Black King of the Hellfire Club — a twelve-year-old sociopath named Kade Kilgore — engineers an international anti-mutant arms race and launches a massive Sentinel attack on Utopia, Cyclops and Wolverine's simmering disagreements erupt into open conflict. Cyclops orders the teenage mutants to fight; Wolverine refuses to let children be soldiers. Their argument escalates into a brutal physical confrontation on the beach of Utopia as the Sentinel bears down. In the aftermath, Wolverine takes half the X-Men back to Westchester to reopen the school (renamed the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning), while Cyclops maintains his militant Extinction Team on Utopia. The X-Men are split in two.
