The Mutant Messiah (the first new mutant born after the Decimation wiped out most of the world's mutant population). Her omega-level power to mimic and amplify other mutants' abilities made her the most important mutant of her generation.

Fan Sentiment

Hope Summers remains a polarizing figure in X-Men history, with fans acknowledging her central role in the Messiah trilogy and her importance to mutant survival while critiquing how heavily Marvel pushed her during her debut era. Her status as the "Mutant Messiah" and adopted daughter of Cable earned her a permanent place in the Summers family legacy, though opinions split on whether she lived up to the hype. Recent appearances in X-Men Forever reignited discussions about her place in the franchise's future.
