Namor
Namor McKenzie
The Sub-Mariner, king of Atlantis and Marvel's first mutant. Namor's relationship with the X-Men has oscillated between ally and antagonist. He served on the Extinction Team, wielded a fragment of the Phoenix Force, and has been a member of multiple X-teams during the Krakoan era, though his loyalties always lie with Atlantis first.

Namor remains one of Marvel's most enduring anti-heroes, beloved for his imperious personality and unapologetic arrogance that sets him apart from traditional heroes. His role in the Phoenix Five during Avengers vs. X-Men and his morally complex decisions in Jonathan Hickman's New Avengers (particularly the Illuminati storyline) showcase the character at his best: a proud king willing to make impossible choices for his people. The character's longevity since 1939 and his unique position as Marvel's first mutant give him a storied legacy that spans from attempting to prevent Nagasaki's bombing to his modern portrayal as someone who operates by his own code, never quite fitting in with surface-dwellers or traditional superhero teams.
