Hellion
Julian Keller
A powerful telekinetic and former leader of the Hellions squad at the Xavier Institute, Julian Keller embodied teenage arrogance tempered by genuine talent. His rivalry-turned-romance with X-23 and his mentorship under Emma Frost defined much of the Academy X era. Losing both hands during Second Coming forced a darker evolution, as he struggled with rage and the limits of his telekinetic prosthetics. He remains one of the most developed members of the post-M-Day student generation.

Hellion remains a polarizing figure in X-Men circles, with fans sharply divided on his trajectory from cocky Academy X standout to the deeply traumatized, increasingly antagonistic character of the Krakoa era. His depowering and repeated losses (losing his hands, losing Laura Kinney) cemented him as a symbol of wasted potential for some readers, while others appreciate Zeb Wells' Hellions run for finally giving Julian's anger and resentment the spotlight it deserved. The character's descent into villainy has sparked ongoing debate about whether his story represents compelling character development or editorial punishment.
