Husk
Paige Guthrie
Sam Guthrie's younger sister, a Kentucky girl who can rip away her skin to reveal a new form underneath (stone, metal, glass, diamond, or anything else she can conceive). Paige's desperate determination to prove herself worthy of the X-Men drove her from the coal mines of Kentucky to Generation X to the X-Men themselves.

Husk's early Generation X run under Chris Bachalo is fondly remembered as her peak, where she stood out as a driven, ambitious student with a distinctive powerset. Her trajectory took a sharp downturn during Chuck Austen's X-Men run, which remains a notorious low point that many view as character assassination. The damage proved lasting; subsequent appearances, including her shapeshifting expansion in Astonishing X-Men, have struggled to recapture what made her compelling in the first place.
