Strong Guy
Guido Carosella
A towering mutant who absorbs kinetic energy and converts it to physical mass and strength. Guido adopted the deliberately ridiculous codename Strong Guy to cope with a life defined by physical pain (his body is permanently distorted from absorbed energy). The heart and comic relief of Peter David's X-Factor, he hides deep insecurity behind constant wisecracks.

Strong Guy is beloved for his everyman charm and surprising depth (a gentle giant with two philosophy degrees who brings heart and humor to X-Factor). Peter David's long run with the character is considered definitive, establishing Guido as far more than comic relief through his complex friendship with Jamie Madrox and his struggles with the physical pain his powers cause. His tragic death and resurrection during the Krakoa era reminded fans why he's remained a cult favorite for decades.
