Sebastian Shaw
Sebastian Hiram Shaw
The Black King of the Hellfire Club, a mutant who absorbs kinetic energy and converts it to raw strength. Shaw is old money, old power, and old corruption (a man who has manipulated governments and corporations for decades). On Krakoa, he ran the Hellfire Trading Company and plotted against anyone who threatened his position, including murdering Kate Pryde.

Shaw remains one of the X-Men's most enduring antagonists, a ruthless capitalist villain whose energy-absorption powers make him a formidable physical threat and whose Hellfire Club machinations keep him relevant across decades. His role as Magneto's former ally-turned-enemy and his manipulation of mutant politics (particularly during the Krakoa era) cement him as a top-tier X-villain who embodies the series' themes of power and corruption. Kevin Bacon's portrayal in X-Men: First Class introduced him to a wider audience, though comic purists still debate whether the film captured his trademark arrogance and corporate menace.
