Omega Sentinel
Karima Shapandar
A former Indian police officer transformed against her will into a Prime Sentinel by Bastion's Operation: Zero Tolerance, Karima Shapandar fought her programming to become an ally of the X-Men under Rogue's and later Cyclops's leadership. During the Krakoan era she emerged as one of mutantkind's most dangerous enemies, serving as Orchis's key operative and working alongside Nimrod and Dr. Stasis to dismantle the mutant nation from within. Her arc from unwilling weapon to hero to villain makes her one of the more complex figures in the human-Sentinel spectrum.

X-Men Unlimited #27
June 2000
Omega Sentinel spent years as a relatively obscure member of the X-Men roster, a human-Sentinel hybrid who showed up in Excalibur and Astonishing X-Men without making much of an impression beyond her premise. Hickman and the Krakoan era changed that completely, repositioning Karima as one of the central antagonists of the entire line through her role in Orchis. Her betrayal at the Hellfire Gala and partnership with Nimrod gave her the narrative weight she had always lacked, and Fall of X made her one of the most hated villains in recent X-Men memory (in the best possible way). Whether she can sustain that relevance outside the Krakoan context remains to be seen.
