Mojo
Mojo
The grotesque, spineless ruler of the Mojoverse (a dimension where reality is literally television), Mojo kidnaps the X-Men to use as stars in his interdimensional ratings wars, turning superhero combat into entertainment spectacle. He is Claremont's most pointed satire of media excess, a villain who fights with Nielsen ratings instead of fists.

Mojo is widely regarded as one of the most divisive villains in X-Men history, with his grotesque design and meta-commentary on television culture earning him as many detractors as defenders. His appearances in the 1990s animated series cemented his reputation as a love-him-or-hate-him character, with his garish Mojoverse antics either providing campy entertainment or prompting readers to skip entire story arcs. While his satirical premise as a dimension-hopping reality TV producer has moments of brilliance, many consider Mojo stories tonally jarring and difficult to take seriously alongside the X-Men's more grounded conflicts.
