Lilandra holds a special place in X-Men lore as the Shi'ar Empress whose romance with Charles Xavier brought cosmic stakes to the franchise, particularly during the M'Kraan Crystal arc that predated the more famous Phoenix Saga. Her regal presence and complicated relationship with the X-Men (sometimes ally, sometimes adversary) make her a fan-favorite supporting character who embodies the series' grand cosmic mythology. Though she hasn't appeared prominently in recent years, fans who remember the Claremont era frequently express interest in seeing her return to the fold.
