Praetor of the Shi'ar Imperial Guard and one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel universe, Gladiator possesses Superman-level strength, speed, and invulnerability fueled by his supreme confidence. First sent to battle the X-Men during the Dark Phoenix Saga, he has clashed with and fought alongside Earth's heroes many times as his duty to the Shi'ar throne demanded. After the War of Kings he briefly served as Majestor of the empire, a role that put him at the center of galactic politics before returning to his position as the Guard's champion.

October 1977
Gladiator stands as one of Marvel's most formidable powerhouses, a Superman-level threat who consistently proves why the Shi'ar Imperial Guard should be taken seriously. His memorable confrontations with the X-Men, particularly the tense standoff where Cyclops threatened him during the Trial of Jean Grey arc, showcase both his raw power and the strategic mind needed to challenge him. While not a marquee character with his own ongoing series, his appearances deliver high-stakes cosmic drama and serve as a reliable measuring stick for just how dangerous a situation has become.
