Callisto
Callisto
Former leader of the Morlocks, the underground community of outcast mutants living in the tunnels beneath Manhattan. A fierce warrior and survivalist, Callisto kidnapped Angel to be her consort and clashed repeatedly with Storm, who defeated her in a knife fight to claim leadership. The Mutant Massacre devastated her people, and Callisto has since served as an uneasy ally of the X-Men, driven by her loyalty to mutantkind's outcasts.

Callisto stands out as one of the X-Men's most memorable antagonists from the Claremont era, particularly for her bold kidnapping of Angel to serve as her consort and her brutal underground duel with Storm in the sewers. Her leadership of the Morlocks and her complex, shifting relationship with the X-Men (sometimes enemy, sometimes reluctant ally) keeps her a fan favorite whenever she appears. The character's fierce independence and her iconic confrontation with Storm remain defining moments that fans consistently reference when discussing underutilized mutant characters.
